What a great idea! I was about to spend a fortune on a hotel for my partner and I to go to Wellington for a wedding, but found a fantastic house swap opportunity on the site. Easy peasy. No problems...

About us

Member ID: 2019

Hi, we are a family of 4, with 2 children, ages 10 and 12. We emigrated from the UK back in 2003, and have lived in Auckland, Queenstown and now Christchurch. We enjoy outdoor activities, such as biking, tramping and generally being outdoors. We have experience with house swapping in New Zealand and have had a great time exploring different locations.

Property description and facilities

Our house has 4 bedrooms, one master en suite, with a queen bed, another queen bed in the spare room, one room with 2 bunk beds and a bedroom with a single bed. We are a tidy family and take pride in our home. In the garden we have a hammock, a playhouse and a trampoline for the kids (and adults). There are amazing views from our fully fenced garden of the Remarkables and Cardrona mountains. Coronet base is 25 minute drive, Remarkables base 40 minute and Cardrona approximately 50 minutes.

The house comes with some gadgets, such as a bread maker, coffee machine and a juicer.

We would love to swap weekends in areas near a beach such as Dunedin, Southland, or Lake Tekapo and other areas within the south island. However, please email us as we are always flexible and open to suggestions.

(Please note that we do have a large walnut tree outside our house, just to be aware if anyone in your family has nut allergies).

Location description and facilities

We live in a beautiful part of New Zealand, that being Queenstown. There is heaps to do here, whether it is out cycling during the day, tramping, skiing, eating out at a great choice of restaurants and cafes, wine tasting at some amazing vine yards, bungy jumping, sky diving, golf, fishing, up the gondola and down on the Luge, or just chilling out by Lake Hayes or Lake Wakatipu. Historic Arrowtown is only a 10 minute drive away, where you can pan for gold, walk the many trails, visit the local pub or do some shopping. Glenorchy and Paradise are a day’s visit, where Lord of the Rings was filmed and there are some amazing short and long walks there too.
We live in a quiet area in a new housing estate, where there are many families. It is a very friendly and safe environment to play, walk, visit the local park and there is a new café/restaurant/grocery shop for convenience. You can easily access the cycle trail from our house and Lake Hayes is also accessible (10 minute walk away). Frankton (shops) is a 7 minute drive away and Queenstown, 15 minutes.
