What a great idea! I was about to spend a fortune on a hotel for my partner and I to go to Wellington for a wedding, but found a fantastic house swap opportunity on the site. Easy peasy. No problems...

We loved our house swap. The kids enjoyed feeding the chickens and collecting eggs. It was a lovely modern home with a beautiful rural view over to Mt. Taranki. Only 7 minutes into town. It was like a home away from home and we loved having the extra money to spend on taking our kids on a Flinestone bike ride along the waterfront, the wave pools, restaurants etc. - Stephanie Bormans - Sunday, March 27, 2016

My husband (Wayne) and I have been married for 21 years. We have lived in New Plymouth most of our lives. We have 1 daughter who is a paramedic in Wellington. I'm a registered nurse, I work 4 days a week in the Daystay unit at Base Hospital. Wayne is a self employed Joiner who has a Joinery workshop on our property. Both our extended families live locally. We enjoy watching movies, working on our land, our animals and both avid readers. I love hand craft and have a bedroom dedicated to my craft work. I have a custom made jigsaw table that I have a a jigsaw on the go all the time. We have a good group of friend who we meet with every week to watch a movie one night then board games on Friday night. We belong to a family orientated baptist church.

Property description and facilities

We built our home 13 years ago. We live on a 10 acre block 5 minutes from the city boundary. It has spectacular views of the mountain. It is a spacious comfortable home. Master bedroom king size bed and has a heat pump. It has an ensuite with shower, toilet and vanity. 2nd bedroom has king size bed. 3rd bedroom we use as a library - it has a king single bed with trundler. 4th bedroom is my craft room but I will tidy it and make room for the trundler to be moved there if needed. The kitchen is large with all the modern conveniences and appliances . Main bathroom has a large bath with a beautiful view of the mountain and separate shower. There is a separate toilet. The lounge, dining room and kitchen are open plan. There is outdoor table and chairs on both sides of the house. We have chooks so there are fresh eggs every day.
