What a great idea! I was about to spend a fortune on a hotel for my partner and I to go to Wellington for a wedding, but found a fantastic house swap opportunity on the site. Easy peasy. No problems...

We are a family with 4 girls aged 10 to 14 years. Although every second week its just my partner and myself, so can do a couple swap for a property for 2 aswell. We love going to the beach, boogie boarding and doing fun outdoorsy activities, aswell as skiing/ snowboarding. We often travel north to our family property at Tutukaka and so we are keen to do something different this year. We are very tidy and respectful and keep a well presented home. We want to explore other areas of New Zealand this summer perhaps further north, or East to Napier or Coromandel or the South Island. We know other families with kids will love our little slice of the city on Auckland's North Shore as there is so much on offer, Our home is walking distance to our favourite white sandy beach Takapuna. Its also a short drive down to the beautiful village of Devonport for a walk around the waterfront and up North head where the views of the Hauraki Gulf are spectacular. More stunning safe swimming beaches such as Cheltenham, and Narrowneck are on offer here too. There is a great summer vibe in Takapuna, with one of Auckland's best beach side playgrounds, restaurants and cafes, shopping both in Takapuna and Milford are worth noting. Our property is conveniently located with all the local amenities minutes away at the end of the street, you hardly need a car. It is minutes from the main motorway routes both north and south to the city or for a fun days exploring you can catch the local ferry to town from Devonport and Bayswater close by.
Some locations we are interested in visiting
We have a modern Townhouse with fabulous private outdoor living spaces, and spa pool.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen, 5 bedrooms including 4 single bedrooms and a master suite with ensuite,
There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower and a separate toilet downstairs.
There are two living spaces and two dining spaces but you'll no doubt want to enjoy al-fresco dining on the large deck (seating for 8) and patio area with BBQ.
A small trampoline round the back and a carpeted garage space with games table for the kids makes for fun times. Our home is sunny and warm and modern with heat pump and gas fire. we have wireless fast fibre broadband and speaker systems.
At the end of the street (3 min walk), there is a supermarket, bottle store, green grocers, bakery, chemist, restaurant/ bar and takeaways so you hardly need a car.
We are located in walking distance to the stunning Takapuna Beach and a short drive to the quaint village of Devonport where you can walk along the waterfront and up North Head or Mount Victoria for arguably the best views in Auckland.
A wonderful way to explore the city is to catch the ferry from Bayswater or Devonport for the day. Or if you love white sandy beaches you are spoilt for choice if you want a change from Takapune Beach there is Cheltenham, Narrowneck or Milford a short distance away. And if shopping or dining out is your thing there are many to choose from in the lovely beachy vibe of Takapuna and the markets on Sunday are worth the visit!.
There are loads of things to do and see on the North Shore, the best beaches in Auckland on your doorstep, shopping in Takapuna or Milford mall's. Bike ride from the house on scenic route to Devonport Village, Dining at the many cafe's and restaurants ( I have my fav's), jumping off wharf in Stanley point at full tide, ferry to city to explore downtown and shop at the newest complex Commercial Bay, visit the old village of Devonport for lunch, shopping, a movie, new playground, library, or walk along waterfront and visit the Navy Musuem and cafe at the foot of North Head before walking up North head for the best views of Rangitoto and the Hauraki Gulf. Catch the ferry from Devonport to Waiheke for a day exploring or the vineyards. Go fishing off Bayswater Marina.
